Workshops Programme

Our programme of workshops is constantly evolving and we recommend that you visit this page regularly to see what is new. For details of workshops, please click the relevant green buttons below. To book a place on a workshop, please follow the instructions on our booking form which can be accessed by clicking the button at the bottom of each workshop page.

Chiltern & Thames BAPCA workshops are for qualified counsellors, counsellors in training and also for those working in the caring professions. All workshops and courses count towards BACP Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and you will receive a certificate of attendance.

CTBAPCA members are encouraged to give feedback about their subjects of interest by emailing the CTBAPCA Coordinator. Where possible, these requests will be met. We look forward to welcoming you.

Contracting How we contract as therapists with clients, and how important this area is in our work. Facilitated by Sharon Fairclough and Bev Marlow on Saturday, 17th January 2009.
Practice Intensive A two-day practical workshop enabling therapists to refine counselling skills and attitudes. Facilitated by Mike Worrall on Friday and Saturday, 6th and 7th February 2009.
Endings This workshop explores struggles and issues around endings with clients. Facilitated by Miriam James on Saturday, 7th March 2009.
Sex This workshop examines how we talk about sex with clients. Facilitated by Mike Worrall on Saturday, 6th June 2009.
Self Expression Block This workshop will look at ways of facilitating the use of visual arts in therapy. Facilitated by Maya Nayake on Saturday, 3rd October 2009.
Understanding Self Harm This workshop explores how as practitioners we can best relate to clients who self-harm. Facilitated by Dagmar Edwards on Saturday, 17th October 2009.
19 Propositions An exploration of Carl Rogers’ principles of client-centred therapy and what they mean to us today. Facilitated by Mike Worrall on Saturday, 7th November 2009.
Neuroscience This two-day workshop gives an opportunity to consider some of the implications of adult traumatic attachment. Facilitated by Dagmar Edwards on Friday and Saturday, 20th and 21st November 2009.
Addiction Understanding Addiction: A Person-Centred and Attachment Theory Perspective. Facilitated by Dagmar Edwards on Saturday, 12th December 2009.
